Sheridan Avenue Music

Mission: – create – play – teach –
  • Providing top quality guitar and bass instruction customized to meet each student’s goals and musical interests.
  • A recording resource for musicians and songwriters in need of demo production.
TEACH – Guitar, Bass, and Mandolin Lessons:

Individual lessons are offered weekly in one-hour sessions and personalized to fit the students’ goals and musical interests.  Emphasis is placed on learning new songs balanced by music theory and practical application.  This gives a firm foundation while still having fun.

Lessons topics include: Guitar construction, care and maintenance, notes and chords, basic/advanced music theory, lead and rhythm guitar playing, amplification, effects, recording, musical composition and songwriting.

Students are encouraged to bring in links/tapes/CDs of their favorite songs for “ear training” to reinforce the music concepts learned in class.  Customized “jam tracks” are also included in the curriculum to give students practice playing with a backup band.

Intensive half-day workshops are also offered for groups of four or more.  Workshops can be geared for beginning, intermediate, or advanced players.

PLAY – echo echo echo music

echo-echo-echo is my all original instrumental, loop-based, ambient,
alternative, alter-ego…
And, my platform for playing live, composing, arranging, session work, and testing gear.

The studio is available for demo recordings for aspiring songwriters and musicians.  It is also used for student projects and for teaching amplification, basic mixing, and recording techniques.

The studio is equipped with Logic Pro 11 and Reason, a semi-retired 8-track V-studio, digital effects processing, tube mic pre-amps, various condenser and dynamic microphones, guitar amplifiers and modelers, computerized sequencing, and drum machines.

Acoustic and electric guitar repair and maintenance services are offered to keep instruments in top playing condition.  Routine maintenance work includes changing strings, setting intonation, cleaning and conditioning body and neck wood, lubricating the nut, and setting string height.

Repairs such as pickup installation and replacement, re-wiring, and noise reduction are done on site.  Other repairs such as neck resets and bodywork are referred to local shops.
